Hanwha Investment & Securities Taps Chainlink to Tokenize Real-World Assets Globally

Hanwha Chainlink tokenization is the latest institutional tie-up putting real-world assets on-chain: Hanwha Investment & Securities has signed a strategic partnership with Chainlink Labs to build a global platform for tokenizing, connecting and collateralizing real-world assets (RWAs), the firms announced Oct 29 via PR Newswire.

The Korean securities giant – a Fortune Global 500 affiliate’s financial arm – is adopting Chainlink’s Data Standard (Data Feeds and SmartData) as its official oracle layer for trusted pricing and net-asset-value data, and the Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) as its interoperability rail for moving tokenized assets and liquidity between public and private blockchains.

Inside the Hanwha Chainlink tokenization plan

A joint working group will cover institutional on-chain use cases, compliance and custody requirements, RWA valuation and reserve verification methods, standards for using tokenized RWAs as collateral, and criteria for Korea’s tokenized securities market. Hanwha is already in talks with global asset managers and issuers about tokenizing and distributing RWA products for institutional investors, and is preparing a global digital asset business run from Seoul and Abu Dhabi.

"Our goal is to tokenize quality assets that clients have wanted but found difficult to access," said Insung An, Hanwha’s Chief Digital Officer, describing a market where assets are issued, distributed and used as collateral across global markets. Chainlink’s Johann Eid countered that tokenizing is step one: "connecting them across public and private blockchains is what unlocks access to users, markets, and liquidity worldwide."

Why it matters for RWA markets

South Korea’s tokenized securities framework arrives in February 2027, giving the platform a regulatory runway. No assets, issuers, launch date or economics were disclosed – it’s a partnership, not a product launch – but it lands weeks after Chainlink’s LG CNS tie-up targeting Korea’s $68B digital asset market. Korea is quietly assembling an institutional RWA stack, and Chainlink is threading through most of it.
