Anime Embraces Web3: Foundation Launches with Animoca Brands, MyAnimeList & San FranTokyo

The Anime Foundation is set to debut with key partners such as Animoca Brands, Animoca Brands Japan, MyAnimeList, and San FranTokyo, as revealed in a press release.

Creating a Web3 Manga and Anime Community

According to the press release, Anime Foundation connects web2 and web3 platforms with a community-driven cultural protocol for manga and anime. With this relationship, fans, creators, studios, IP holders, anime, and brands throughout the world will have access to new experiences and opportunities.

The Anime Foundation envisioned a world in which fans would have more access to exclusive content and a sense of ownership in a global community, while anime and manga producers would have better opportunities and benefits and distribution would be more efficient.

The four partners are in a position to support this idea. To draw talent and knowledge from the established anime and manga industries, MyAnimeList and Animoca Brands Japan will use their extensive industry networks and community involvement.

Animoca Brands and San FranTokyo intend to leverage their expansive ecosystems and blockchain technologies to create fresh avenues for fan engagement.

Additionally, Anime Foundation will collaborate with Mocaverse, a growth network featuring systems for Account, Identity, Reputation, and PointFi, developed by Animoca Brands.

In a significant move, Animoca Brands Japan has invested JPY¥300 million in MyAnimeList, a leading anime and manga community platform boasting 16 million registered members.

Yat Siu, co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands, expressed excitement about being a launch partner for Anime Foundation, envisioning it as a driving force in promoting anime culture worldwide.

Siu also emphasized the potential of Anime Foundation to evolve into a prominent global network encompassing on-chain identity, experiences, and economies.

Applying the Anime ID on Mocaverse

In order to assist users in making the switch to web3, this partnership introduces Anime ID, a decentralized identifier and reputation layer, using Mocaverse’s new Realm Network SDK. Using blockchain technology, the project will provide new revenue streams and community-building activities.

The first Realm Network partner, Anime Foundation, and we are thrilled to co-launch Anime ID. Mocaverse Lead Kenneth Shek stated, “Anime Foundation has the finest opportunity to reach millions of anime enthusiasts worldwide.
