ANIMOCA AND SQUARE ENIX BRANDWORK TOGETHER FOR THE NEXT BIG RELEASE

An agreement was recently signed by Animoca Brands Japan, a division of Animoca Brands, and Square Enix to assist in the marketing of Animoca Brands’ upcoming game SYMBIOGENESIS and related NFT collection.

In case you didn’t know, Square Enix is the firm responsible for the well-known Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy series. This firm also created the role-playing game SYMBIOGENESIS, which features 10,000 NFT characters.

In addition to serving as PFPs and in-game personalities that allow users to engage with the community, the related NFTs will grant access to the actual game.

Why did Square Enix and Animoca Brands collaborate?

With a sizable portfolio of more than 400 Web3 businesses, Animoca Brands has already made a name for itself as a pioneer in the industry. The primary objective of this collaboration is to aid SYMBIOGENESIS in its global expansion. Animoca is going to assist SYMBIOGENESIS with its marketing endeavors, joint ventures, and international NFT sales.

However, this is not the first time Square Enix and Animoca Brands have partnered up. In 2022, the two worked together on bringing Dungeon Siege RPG experience in The Sandbox

That being said, Square Enix and Animoca Brands have collaborated before. The two collaborated in 2022 to introduce the Dungeon Siege role-playing game to The Sandbox.

What effect does this collaboration have on Web3 gaming?

As we already know, Square Enix is a top Web2 game developer. By 2024, there will be 30 million players of Final Fantasy IV, a statistic that has steadily increased over time. Comparably, as of 2022, Kingdom Hearts—another one of its best-selling games—had sold over 36 million copies.

With the release of this new RPG with NFT components, more conventional players will have the opportunity to learn about the benefits of NFTs.

It’s conceivable that other big studios would follow suit to keep things competitive if a significant entity like Square Enix goes in this direction. And that’s precisely how adoption takes place! Although this is fantastic news for the time being, everything will ultimately depend on how well SYMBIOGENESIS performs after it is published.
