Taiko Token Takes Flight with 5% Airdrop!

After securing an extra $15 million in funding in March, Taiko, a fresh Ethereum Layer-2 solution, has officially initiated an airdrop.

Taiko TKO Token Airdrop Announces Eligibility And Claim Periods

On May 22, an airdrop of Taiko TKO tokens was announced, signifying the end of two years of development inside the zkEVM Taiko framework.

For the first season airdrop, 5% of the Taiko TKO token’s total supply will be utilized. In addition to programmers, GitHub contributors, general users who have accrued points through Galxe, and the Loopring community, the categories that are included in this airdrop are Taiko Proposer, Prover, and Bridger. Users can use claim.taiko.xyz to verify their eligibility. After a week to verify eligibility, there will be a month to retrieve the tokens.

Apart from the airdrop, Taiko recently introduced the Trailblazers initiative. This is a promotion that urges users to participate both before and after the mainnet launch in order to gain points every week.

Taiko is marketing itself as an Ethereum Layer-2 solution that is decentralized and scalable, and it does it by utilizing ZK-Rollup, which scales scalability very effectively. It has a decentralized, permissionless, and secure infrastructure that supports a wide range of ZK-EVM opcodes.

Taiko’s ZK-Rollup Technology Gets Acclaim and $37 Million in Funding

To manage transactions and blocks, Taiko defers the authentication architecture to the Ethereum authentication infrastructure, in contrast to other Layer-2 systems that usually have their own proprietary sequencer networks for the rollup. It is therefore the safest and most censorship-resistant option.

With the most recent investment round two months ago, Taiko’s total external capital since founding has reached $37 million. Taiko has received acclaim from Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin for his “fascinating work.” Being a Type-1 ZK-EVM, Taiko prioritizes flawless compatibility with Ethereum’s EVM, even at the cost of producing ZK-proofs more slowly than necessary.
