Solana (424.7M transactions) maintained its position as the busiest chain in crypto by a wide margin, despite a slight 1.7% dip in activity.
The biggest news came from Base, Coinbase’s Layer-2 network, which saw the strongest growth. Base surged by 20% to 102M transactions, securing the third spot as its ecosystem, driven by social apps and stablecoin flows, rapidly accelerates.
BNB Chain (110.2M transactions) dropped to second place following an 8.2% decline in activity.
Key Chain Activity Highlights:
- Solana: 424.7M txns (-1.7%), continues to lead in throughput and active addresses (17.28M, +0.6%).
- BNB Chain: 110.2M txns (-8.2%), reflecting a cooldown in its DeFi and gaming sectors.
- Base: 102M txns (+20%), the fastest-growing major chain, also saw healthy address growth (+1.3%).
- Tron (@trondao): 73M txns and rising, supported by its strong position in USDT settlement in emerging markets, with a significant 10% increase in active addresses.
In summary: While Solana remains the performance leader, the data suggests Base is the chain to watch as the fastest-growing network heading into the end of 2025.
