Robinhood’s Crypto Revenue Surges 339% in Q3, Driven by Bitstamp Acquisition and Market Rebound

Robinhood Markets, Inc. (HOOD) reported exceptional third-quarter 2025 results, highlighted by a massive 339% year-over-year surge in cryptocurrency trading revenue, signaling the firm’s successful push into digital assets and global markets.

Strong Crypto Performance Fuels Growth

  • Crypto Revenue: Reached $268 million in Q3, a dramatic increase from $61 million in the same period last year.
  • Trading Volume: The platform processed $80 billion in crypto trades for the quarter, reflecting renewed interest from both retail and institutional investors.
  • Key Driver: The integration of the recently acquired global crypto exchange, Bitstamp, was a major factor in this revenue boom.

Exceeding Financial Expectations

Overall, Robinhood posted strong financial results that beat Wall Street estimates:

  • Adjusted EPS: $0.61, topping the $0.53 estimate.
  • Total Net Revenue: $1.27 billion, surpassing the $1.21 billion forecast.

Despite the strong performance, HOOD shares experienced a slight dip after hours, though the stock remains up an impressive 260% year-to-date, marking a significant turnaround for the company. CFO Jason Warnick noted that the multi-asset model is gaining traction, with October seeing record volumes across equities, options, futures, and prediction markets.

Global Expansion via Bitstamp

The acquisition of Bitstamp has proven crucial to Robinhood’s strategy:

  1. Global Reach: It extended the platform’s presence to over 50 countries.
  2. Regulatory Footing: It strengthened compliance in key jurisdictions like the UK and EU.
  3. Institutional Access: It provided a direct pathway into institutional trading services, broadening its client base beyond its core retail users.

Robinhood, now with a market capitalization of $126 billion, is outpacing rival Coinbase, as both firms benefit from the recent crypto market rebound driven by renewed interest in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and tokenized assets.
