Floki Inu Ignites Massive 15.2 Billion Token Burn

The Floki Inu community has suggested burning 15,246,000,000 FLOKI tokens, valued at $2.8 million. This proposal aims to eliminate the tokens from blacklisted wallets, as stated by the community.

15.2 Billion Burning FLOKI

According to Floki Inu, a referendum in 2022 approved the burning of 15,246,000,000 FLOKI, with the community agreeing to burn any extra retrieved tokens. The community has made it clear that the only thing you can do with tokens once a wallet is blacklisted is to send them to the Floki multisig.

Stated differently, the community believes it is appropriate to permanently remove these tokens from the market.

In keeping with the expectations the community has for these tokens, we believe it is only right to burn the returned token in order to permanently remove it from circulation,” the Floki Inu community stated.

Floki DAO has also pledged to distribute 1% of the value of the returned tokens, approximately 154 million FLOKI, to those impacted as a gesture of goodwill. This incentive could potentially encourage more wallets to contribute their excess tokens for burning. The proposal has garnered 232 votes.

This isn’t the first time the community has voted to burn FLOKI tokens. In February, a similar decision was made to burn 190.9 billion tokens recovered from the multi-chain bridge.

The Floki Inu community emphasized that each of these decisions was promptly executed, underscoring the project’s complete decentralization, with Floki DAO determining its direction.

Following the announcement, FLOKI experienced an increase of over 11%, rising from $0.0001872 to $0.0002025. Additionally, its trading volume surged by 235.29% in the last 24 hours.
