Recent speculation on social media has stirred confusion regarding Changpeng Zhao, the former CEO and co-founder of Binance. Contrary to reports of his early release, Zhao has been transferred to the Residential Reentry Management (RRM) Long Beach facility in California, not released. Zhao, who pled guilty in November to violations of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), is serving a reduced sentence at the low-security Lompoc II prison in Santa Barbara County.
