Two sessions, two half-billion-dollar exits. U.S. spot crypto ETFs posted net outflows of roughly $505 million on November 6, one day after shedding about $530 million, so more than $1.1 billion left these funds in 48 hours – a sharp undoing of the strongest inflow week 2026 has produced.
Day-one detail: bitcoin funds lost about $411.9 million and ether funds about $93.3 million, per Farside Investors. BlackRock’s IBIT carried most of the bitcoin redemptions at $403 million, while FBTC bucked the trend with $42.8 million of fresh cash. Not everyone is running.
Where the money went
On November 5, the combined total reached about $530 million ($430 million from bitcoin products, $100 million from ether) as Bitcoin slipped 5.6% beneath $76,000 and ether fell close to 8%. The two-day stretch pushes weekly outflows across the major U.S. vehicles past $1.1 billion and November’s bitcoin ETF total to roughly $870 million through November 5.
For perspective, an October 30 session alone drained $643 million – the biggest single-day redemption since June 25 – and year-to-date bitcoin ETF inflows have now narrowed to about $1 billion.
A record inflow week, unwound
The speed of the reversal is what stands out. For the week ending November 1, CoinShares counted $3.55 billion flowing into crypto funds, the largest haul of 2026, with bitcoin capturing $2.52 billion. Seven days later, the exits dominate as a chip-stock rout and post-midterm policy repricing take a scalper to equity markets.
Flow data rewards humility: positioning had grown crowded after the record week, and the first violent tape forced the exit.
Why it matters for BTC
ETF flows have become a daily sentiment read on bitcoin, and the needle is pointing south with BTC pinned below $76,000. The October jobs report and a large options expiry loom as the next scheduled catalysts to test whether the streak reaches a third session – or whether FBTC’s contrarian $42.8 million turn looks early.
Either way, the post-election bid has been fully unwound, and crypto ETF outflows are once again setting the tone.
