Hong Kong FinTech Week 2026 is officially under way, running 2-6 November 2026 from the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and a handful of satellite venues across the city and the Greater Bay Area. Now in its landmark new chapter as Hong Kong FinTech Week x StartmeupHK, the flagship gathering is leaning hard into its theme – Fintech Nexus: Bridging the World, Building the Future – and, if the speaker list is anything to go by, nobody told the organisers that finance is supposed to be boring.
The headline numbers are characteristically Hong Kong: 45,000+ global leaders, 1,000+ speakers, 800+ sponsors, exhibitors and startups, 30+ Chinese Mainland and international delegations, and 120+ economies represented. Registration for the main conference opened with an early-bird offer saving up to USD 150, and the week is structured around three engines the organisers call AI+, Finance+ and Global Expansion – a neat way of saying that AI transforms you, finance funds you, and Hong Kong takes you global.
What Hong Kong FinTech Week 2026 is actually built around
The 2026 edition splits into ten forums across the week: the Policy and Visionary Forum, AI and DeepTech Forum, Digital Assets and Web3 Forum, AI in Finance Forum, China-Global Innovation Forum, InsurTech and HealthTech Forum, GreenTech Forum, Founder and Startup Venture Forum, Tech Builder Forum and Creator Forum. The main conference and exhibition occupy 2-3 November at HKCEC, with the GreenTech and Creator forums and the InsurTech and HealthTech forum slotting in alongside, before the programme moves to Shenzhen on 4 November for the AI in GBA Forum and the GBA Immersive Executive Tour (4-5 November), an add-on that takes executives inside Shenzhen’s AI, EV, fintech and robotics companies.
For crypto readers, the Digital Assets and Web3 Forum is the centre of gravity – and this year it arrives just as Hong Kong’s stablecoin licensing regime and tokenisation push move from whitepaper to implementation.
Who is speaking at Hong Kong FinTech Week 2026
The 2026 government roster reads like a policy shortlist: Chief Executive John Lee, Financial Secretary Paul Chan, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Christopher Hui, and Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Algernon Yau. On the regulatory side, UK FCA Chair Ashley Alder – the former SFC chief and one-time IOSCO chair – is on the bill, alongside Banque de France First Deputy Governor Denis Beau and Tommaso Mancini-Griffoli, head of the BIS Innovation Hub, with former BIS General Manager Agustín Carstens also listed.
Banking and asset management heavyweights include HSBC Group CEO Georges Elhedery, Standard Chartered Group CEO Bill Winters, Bank of China President Hui Zhang, Franklin Templeton CEO Jenny Johnson, plus senior leadership from Citi, AIA, Prudential, AXA, Manulife and Sun Life.
The digital-asset contingent is where it gets interesting: Binance Co-CEO Richard Teng, Solana Foundation President Lily Liu, and Bybit Co-founder and CEO Ben Zhou are all confirmed, alongside Ant Digital Technologies President Zhuoqun Bian, Tencent Financial Technology head Forest Lin, WeBank Chief AI Architect Eason Wang, Du Xiaoman CEO Guang Zhu, and a deep bench of venture investors from Primavera Capital, BAI Capital and beyond. AI and robotics founders round it out – Pony.ai’s James Peng, WeRide’s Tony Han and UBTECH’s Michael Tam.
Networking, AI matchmaking and the Shenzhen add-on
New for this edition is Samantha, the event’s personal AI networking agent, which suggests relevant attendees and builds a personalised itinerary – introductions only happen when both sides agree, so the robots are politely chaperoned. Startups can apply to the Global Fast Track programme for investor matchmaking with 120+ investors and corporate partners, while corporates get a floor that is reportedly 60% C-suite and senior decision-makers.
Why Hong Kong FinTech Week 2026 matters
Seriously – where else does a stablecoin regime, a digital-asset policy forum and a Shenzhen robotics tour fit in the same week? Hong Kong is positioning itself as the super-connector between Chinese Mainland capital and global markets, and HKFTW 2026 is the sales pitch. For anyone tracking crypto regulation, tokenised finance or agentic AI in banking, the sessions coming out of HKCEC over the next few days are the ones worth watching.
The main conference runs 2-3 November 2026 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Wan Chai, with forums and tours continuing through 6 November. Full agenda, speaker line-up and passes are at the official site: fintechweek.hk.
