Bottom line: The Ethereum ETF outflow streak reached 23 straight trading sessions through the Oct. 30 close, the longest continuous run of net outflows since US spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds launched in July 2024. Glassnode published the finding on Oct. 31 and Wu Blockchain amplified it on Nov. 1.
Twenty-three sessions in a row is no longer a wobble, it is a commute. The same products that set a 20-day inflow record worth roughly $5.4 billion in July 2024 are now setting the opposite record, and the investors who walked out look a lot like the ones who walked in during the August and September rally.
The Ethereum ETF outflow streak in numbers
According to Glassnode’s chart and the reporting around it:
- 23 consecutive sessions of net outflows through the Friday, Oct. 30 close, the longest such streak since the funds debuted in July 2024.
- The prior longest outflow run was nine days (June 17-30, per BeInCrypto’s comparison), so the current streak has more than doubled the old record.
- The record inflow streak stands at 20 sessions and about $5.4 billion in July 2024, while the largest single-day outflow was $465 million on Aug. 4, 2024, with BlackRock’s ETHA accounting for roughly $375 million of it.
- SoSoValue screens show the recent flow picture at about $542.1 million of weekly net outflows, with $55.37 million leaving in the prior session.
An honest asterisk: Glassnode published no cumulative dollar total for the streak itself and no per-ETF breakdown, so treat the sums above as surrounding context rather than a final scoreboard.
What Glassnode says the flows are saying
Glassnode’s read is unflattering but simple: the withdrawals signal weakening demand from traditional finance investors who piled in during August and September, whose flows have since flipped to net outflows. The ETF plumbing that was supposed to turn allocators into permanent holders is, for now, running in reverse one session at a time.
The macro weather did not help
Ether traded near $2,270 at the time of writing with bitcoin hovering around $77,800, still below the $80,000 level strategists keep watching. Into that: a Federal Reserve meeting, the early-November US midterm elections, and the Glamsterdam hard fork targeted for Nov. 4 as the marquee on-chain catalyst of the quarter. Nobody trades aggressively into all three at once, and October’s flow tape proves it.
What would end the streak
Exactly one thing: a green session. A single day of net inflows ends the record run, and the streak’s length now says more about persistence than panic, no cumulative blowout total having been published.
