ICE Hyperliquid Perpetual Futures Go Onshore in US Deal With TradeXYZ

The Intercontinental Exchange – the company that owns the New York Stock Exchange – is taking crypto’s most traded experiment mainstream. ICE has signed a definitive agreement with TradeXYZ to build the first US-regulated home for ICE Hyperliquid perpetual futures, the always-on contracts that turned Hyperliquid into one of the busiest trading venues in crypto.

The announcement landed Thursday alongside ICE’s earnings call, and traders did the math immediately: Hyperliquid’s HYPE rallied 13-19% on the day while ICE shares added 4-6%. When the owner of the NYSE goes shopping on-chain, even the skeptics look up.

What the ICE Hyperliquid perpetual futures deal creates

Under the agreement, the two companies will stand up a new, dedicated exchange and clearing structure built on Hyperliquid’s HIP-3 framework. TradeXYZ designs and deploys the markets; ICE supplies the regulated scaffolding – the exchange, the clearinghouse, and the identity and anti-money-laundering checks that keep compliance teams employed.

The planned menu is ambitious: 24/7 perpetual futures on cryptocurrencies, individual stocks, equity indices, commodities and foreign exchange. The venue runs as a separate business from ICE’s institutional futures and clearing franchise – a deliberate wall so commercial hedgers stay insulated from retail counterparty risk.

The deal is not a launch. Everything awaits Commodity Futures Trading Commission approval, and neither company disclosed a start date, an initial contract list or a fee schedule. ICE also took a strategic equity stake in TradeXYZ; financial terms were not disclosed, and ICE said the investment leaves its 2026 adjusted results materially unchanged.

Why the NYSE owner wants Hyperliquid

The volume argument writes itself: markets built by TradeXYZ have cleared more than $650 billion in a little over a year, and builder-deployed markets now account for roughly half of all Hyperliquid volume. The same model produced the first official S&P 500 perpetual back in March.

ICE CEO Jeffrey Sprecher framed the appeal in plain terms. “We’ve seen a clear increase in retail participation in markets, and that participation is becoming far more global,” he said, adding that the new markets will complement, not replace, ICE’s existing futures business. The full announcement was published on ICE’s investor relations wire.

The backdrop helps. President Trump floated bringing Hyperliquid onshore in September; Kraken parent Payward is pursuing its own US perpetual route through its Bitnomial business; and hedge-fund veteran Stan Druckenmiller is reported to hold a roughly $23 million indirect stake in TradeXYZ. That is a lot of heavy hitters for a protocol many of them dismissed as a fad two years ago.

What it means for traders

For US traders, the pitch is simple: the offshore perpetual experience – round-the-clock hours, deep liquidity, token and equity access – inside a regulated, onshore venue with a clearinghouse behind it. The catch is the one printed in every crypto press release: subject to regulatory approval, with no date attached.

CFTC sign-off would make this the most credible onshore test yet of decentralized market infrastructure. If the regulator bites, the $650 billion question becomes how fast the rest of Wall Street follows. If it does not, HYPE traders will have learned a familiar lesson: crypto moves fast, Washington does not.

Figures include point-in-time market data from October 29-30, 2026 and may have changed.
