Wells Fargo, Intuit Object to OKX ICE Tokenized Share Listings

Wells Fargo, Arm Holdings and Intuit have become the latest major issuers to object to OKX ICE tokenized share listings, according to a regulatory document reviewed by Reuters, pushing the total number of companies blocking the joint venture’s tokenized US stock market to 22 of the 63 planned listings.

Six additional companies joined the opt-out list in the latest filing, with Wells Fargo, Arm and Intuit among the names newly disclosed. The objections are a small milestone with a large implication: tokenizing a share of Wells Fargo apparently requires Wells Fargo’s permission first.

What Are OKX ICE Tokenized Share Listings?

OKXICE LLC is the joint venture between crypto exchange OKX and Intercontinental Exchange, the owner of the New York Stock Exchange, that filed with the SEC in October 2026 to launch a 24/7 blockchain-based trading platform for tokenized US stocks. The planned roster reads like a bellwether index: Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft, Tesla, Strategy, Coinbase, Circle and BitGo are all among the 63 NYSE-listed companies earmarked for the first wave of tokenized listings.

The concept is straightforward and genuinely useful: represent real equities on-chain so they can trade around the clock, settle faster and reach crypto-native capital without dragging the trading day behind it. The friction is just as straightforward – the underlying companies did not agree to it.

This latest chapter follows the original OKX and NYSE parent ICE filing that first put the platform on the map.

Why Issuers Are Objecting

Under the SEC’s five-year Innovation Exemption framework, introduced in September 2026, platforms must notify companies before listing tokenized versions of their shares – and cannot proceed if the issuer objects. Companies get a 30-day window to opt out before trading begins.

That consent requirement turns an infrastructure question into a permissioning one. Issuers control their likeness the way a celebrity controls an endorsement: if a venue wants to trade a tokenized version of your stock around the clock, you get a veto. With 22 of 63 names now objecting, more than a third of the launch roster has effectively said not yet – not never, but on our terms.

Reuters could name three of the six newly objecting companies – Wells Fargo, Arm Holdings and Intuit – while the full list of all 22 objecting issuers has not been publicly enumerated.

What Happens Next

The remaining issuers still have their opt-out windows, and every response shapes how much of the original 63-name list survives to launch day. A platform that opens with half its roster intact would still be the largest 24/7 tokenized equity venue proposed to date.

It is also a signal moment for the broader tokenization race. Competing efforts – from Securitize’s tokenized stocks on Solana to Morgan Stanley’s ATS timeline – are watching how permissioning plays out in the world’s deepest equity market. The issuers just learned they hold the remote control.

For now, the message from corporate America is simple: the tokenized version of your company still needs the company’s blessing – and some of them are reaching for the mute button.
