Pentiv mortgages onchain have officially cleared the billion-dollar mark: the former Pineapple Financial (NYSE American: PAPL) says more than $1 billion in residential mortgage records now live on the Injective blockchain, tracked by its PAPL0 token at an asset market cap of roughly $1.1 billion per Token Terminal. The milestone lands the same week Injective reported 135 live onchain real-world asset markets.
For an RWA sector that argues endlessly about which assets deserve to be tokenized first, mortgages are a loud answer – even if the fine print matters, as it usually does with mortgages and blockchains alike.
How Pentiv mortgages onchain grew from $412M to $1B
The ramp has been steep. As of December 2025, roughly 1,200 mortgage files representing about $412 million had been migrated. By September 2026, more than $1 billion in mortgage records had moved onchain – a pace that puts the company’s longer-term target of 29,000+ funded mortgages worth around $10 billion (C$13.7 billion) in serious view. In October, Pentiv launched an intelligence platform for mortgage agents and brokerages built on the same onchain infrastructure, plus a separate $100 million INJ digital asset treasury strategy.
To be precise about what moved: the onchain records are digital counterparts of existing loan files, used for verification and tracking – not newly minted mortgage securities. It is custody theater of the useful kind: the paperwork gets a timestamp it can’t argue with.
Injective’s RWA push gives the numbers a home
Injective’s own disclosures give the Pentiv milestone a frame: 135 live onchain RWA markets, over $1 billion in tokenized assets, and $6.8 billion in cumulative RWA trading volume, with institutional partners spanning POSCO International, LG CNS, Nomura’s Laser Digital and NTT Digital. The broader market backdrop supports the momentum – tracked onchain RWA value stood at $34.18 billion as of mid-September, up 85.2% year-to-date, with tokenized equities up 390%.
Skeptics get their footnote too: our own RWA tokenization reality check found tokenized Treasuries remain the only fully mature class, and the Canary Capital INJ ETF is still a pending proposal awaiting SEC clearance. Against that bar, billion-dollar mortgage pipelines arriving unannounced is the sort of data point the “nothing is happening onchain” crowd scrolls past.
Next milestone to watch: total migrated mortgage count and PAPL0 metrics as Pentiv pushes toward the 29,000-file target – and whether other lenders decide $1 billion of someone else’s homework is worth copying.
