The Samsung Wallet USDC rollout is about to reach a very large audience: up to 82 million eligible Samsung Galaxy devices in the United States will get native stablecoin transfers inside Samsung Wallet, with Solana as the primary blockchain rail. The rollout was announced via the Solana Foundation on October 7, with partners detailing the stack through this week. Launch window: the last week of October.
What Is Shipping in Samsung Wallet
Eligible US Galaxy users will be able to send USDC to compatible external wallets directly inside Samsung Wallet, plus move funds to bank accounts in more than 60 countries. No separate crypto app to install, and no seed-phrase scavenger hunt for basic transfers. The feature lives where the boarding passes already are.
The Partner Stack Behind the Scenes
Solana Foundation is the primary chain partner. Bastion provides regulated stablecoin infrastructure and cross-border remittance plumbing. Coinbase handles custody. Samsung is explicit about its role: the company is neither a bank nor a money transmitter, but the distribution layer connecting users to licensed partners.
How This Differs From Samsung’s Earlier Stablecoin Moves
Samsung confirmed stablecoin support for 800 million Galaxy phones globally back in August, and its Coinbase partnership brought crypto access to 75 million US Galaxy users in October 2025. This announcement is the concrete implementation: a named chain, named custody and infrastructure partners, a defined US device count, and a launch month.
Why 82 Million Devices Matters
Distribution is the boring bottleneck of stablecoin adoption. Samsung Wallet sitting on tens of millions of US devices with native USDC transfers removes a chunk of it overnight. Whether users actually touch the feature is another question entirely, but they will have to opt out rather than opt in to finding it.
