Circle is turning the first key in its CCTP V1 wind-down today: USDC minting on Noble stops on October 13, 2026. New issuance of USDC to the Noble blockchain via Circle Mint is being disabled, marking the first enforcement milestone of the migration plan Circle announced on September 10.
What Today’s USDC Minting on Noble Halt Changes
Nothing dramatic for holders — yet. The announcement separates the schedule into two dates that are easy to conflate:
- October 13, 2026 (today): Circle Mint disables new USDC issuance to Noble.
- January 12, 2027: full pause of the Noble USDC contract and all CCTP V1 transfer routes.
The reason for the exit is architectural, not political: Circle is transitioning to CCTP V2 — faster finality, stronger security — and Noble is not part of that next chapter. All USDC already on Noble remains redeemable 1:1 throughout the interim. Circle will snapshot remaining balances at the January pause and open a manual redemption portal the following day for anyone still holding on-chain bragging rights.
$91.6 Million Watching the Clock
USDC circulating on Noble sat at roughly $91.6 million as of September 11 (DeFiLlama), already down from about $101.3 million a month earlier — the migration is happening with most of the convoy across the bridge already. Downstream, the dYdX Foundation said chain operations are unaffected while it migrates native USDC representation and trading collateral from Noble USDC to Circle-issued Injective USDC, which is not yet supported as dYdX collateral.
The broader institutional backdrop keeps moving the other direction — see Standard Chartered launching RLUSD custody in Dubai for institutional clients for where stablecoin infrastructure money is flowing while V1 rails get decommissioned.
Takeaway: if you hold USDC on Noble, today changes nothing about redemption, but January 12, 2027 is a hard date, not a suggestion. Post-pause, withdrawals require the manual portal with compliance checks — the opposite of a lazy Sunday bridge transfer. Circle is retiring an old rail on schedule; the steady bleed to $91.6M suggests most passengers already got off.
