A fresh Tom Lee Ethereum prediction arrived on a quiet Sunday: the BitMine chairman says Ether clears $5,000 before 2026 is in the books — a near doubling from where ETH has been trading around $2,500 this week. Call it conviction, or call it the loudest bullish note to land on a thin weekend; either way the interview dropped as ETH sits roughly 6.8% lower on the week, nursing a nine-day ETF outflow streak.
Lee laid out the forecast in a Coinage interview published October 11, arguing Ethereum could reach a new all-time high. From current levels, $5,000 implies a gain of about 99% (a separate Yahoo Finance reading of the same call puts the required move nearer 109% — the difference is simply which reference price each outlet used).
The Tom Lee Ethereum prediction, in numbers
Three figures anchor the thesis:
$5,000+ — Lee’s base case for Ether before year-end 2026, with fewer than three months left on the calendar.
~99% — the rally required from ETH’s current zone near $2,500.
$7,500 — his upside if Bitcoin recaptures $100,000, a conditional that ties Ether’s fate to the macro tide as tightly as ever.
Why Lee thinks the consolidation years matter
Lee’s reasoning rests on duration: he points to Ethereum’s extended trading range as the foundation for a potential breakout, arguing that years of consolidation could support a much larger advance once the asset moves beyond its previous highs. It is a cycle argument — compression precedes expansion — dressed in a price target.
Context matters too. Ether ETFs have bled for nine consecutive sessions while Solana funds snapped a record 14-week inflow run, and Bitcoin itself is hovering near $83,000 after a 2.1% weekly dip. BitMine, the treasury firm Lee chairs, also just told the market it intends to stop buying as it nears a 5% stake in the total Ether supply — so the chairman’s mouth is doing the accumulating this weekend.
If consolidation really is coiled spring energy, Ethereum holders are about to find out whether Lee read the spring correctly.
