Standard Chartered Hong Kong to Launch Virtual Asset ETF Trading in November

Standard Chartered Hong Kong is preparing to introduce trading services for virtual asset ETFs (Exchange-Traded Funds) by November 2025.

This strategic move is a direct response to a survey that indicated strong client demand for digital asset exposure, particularly among the bank’s high-end clients. The survey found that nearly 80% of respondents plan to invest in virtual assets, with their primary motivation being the diversification of their investment portfolios.

According to Ho Man-chun, Head of Wealth Solutions at Standard Chartered Hong Kong, the bank is committed to “enhancing our digital offerings” to meet these evolving client needs.

The launch is viewed by financial analysts and industry participants as a significant step toward the mainstream acceptance of digital assets within Hong Kong’s wealth management sector, and is expected to shape future investment trends in the region.
