Asset manager WisdomTree has introduced the WisdomTree Private Credit and Alternative Income Digital Fund (CRDYX), a tokenized fund that gives both retail and institutional investors a way to invest in private credit. The fund tracks the Gapstow Private Credit and Alternative Income Index (GLACI), which is an index of 35 publicly traded private credit vehicles.
Investors can access the fund with a minimum investment of $25 through the WisdomTree Prime and WisdomTree Connect platforms. The fund is built on the Ethereum and Stellar blockchain networks. According to Will Peck, Head of Digital Assets at WisdomTree, this move expands the range of available funds on-chain while maintaining regulatory standards. Jeremy Schwartz, WisdomTree’s Global Chief Investment Officer, noted that this new fund complements the company’s existing lineup of ETFs.
This launch is part of a broader trend of major financial institutions exploring tokenized products. Other examples include BlackRock, which is looking into tokenizing ETFs for equities and other real-world assets, and Nasdaq, which has filed to allow the trading of tokenized stocks on its platform.
