SharpLink Acquires Over $300M in Ethereum, Becomes Second-Largest Institutional Holder

SharpLink, a Nasdaq-listed company, has made a significant move by purchasing over 83,500 ETH for approximately $304 million between July 28 and August 3. This acquisition increases the company’s total Ethereum holdings to more than 521,000 ETH, now valued at over $1.9 billion.

The purchase was financed through the sale of new shares, with SharpLink raising nearly $265 million. This recent move, along with a similar stock sale the previous week, demonstrates the company’s aggressive strategy to expand its Ethereum treasury.

With this latest acquisition, SharpLink has become the second-largest known institutional holder of Ethereum, behind only BitMine, which holds more than 833,000 ETH. This solidifies SharpLink’s position as a major institutional player in the Ethereum ecosystem.
