Market Recap: Bitcoin’s Rally Ignites Altcoins and Meme Coins

Bitcoin’s recent surge to a record high of over $122,000 has sent a bullish wave across the entire cryptocurrency market. While BTC has since undergone a moderate correction, the total crypto market capitalization remains strong, hovering near the $4 trillion mark. This widespread momentum has seen major altcoins and meme coins like XRP, Pepe, and Shiba Inu reaching new highs, suggesting a broad-based bull run is underway.

Ripple (XRP): Post-SEC Victory Rally Continues

XRP has been a standout performer, breaking its 2018 record to hit a new all-time high of $3.65 on July 18. Though it has since pulled back to around $3.11, this 14% correction is viewed as a healthy consolidation phase. The token’s performance is underpinned by strong fundamentals, including its growing adoption in cross-border payments and a landmark legal victory against the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in early 2025.

This regulatory clarity has attracted significant capital inflows, driving XRP’s price up by 413% over the past year, far outpacing Bitcoin’s gains. The token’s Relative Strength Index (RSI) has cooled from an overheated 86 to 60, and with solid support near $3, analysts are optimistic about a potential push toward the $4 mark.

Pepe ($PEPE) and Shiba Inu ($SHIB): Meme Coins Show Resilience

The meme coin sector is also seeing renewed interest. Pepe ($PEPE) has become a top-tier meme coin, with its popularity amplified by its cultural relevance and past endorsements. Currently trading around $0.00001221, Pepe is up 23% in the last month. Despite a recent market dip, Pepe’s price only fell by 2%, demonstrating a surprising level of resilience.

Shiba Inu ($SHIB) continues its fight for the number two spot among meme coins, with a market capitalization nearing $8 billion. The token has held up well amid recent volatility, with technical indicators suggesting potential for further gains. Analysts believe a breakout could propel SHIB to a new price range, particularly given the utility provided by its Layer-2 network, Shibarium, which offers lower fees and faster transaction speeds.
