Pi Coin Gains 4.5% on Ceasefire News—But Is the Trend Still Bearish?

Pi Coin (PI) recorded a 4.5% gain over the past 24 hours, now trading at $0.5335. The move follows a broader crypto market bounce triggered by the recent ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel. While the short-term rally has sparked fresh optimism, Pi’s broader price trend remains under pressure.

Weak Technicals Signal Limited Momentum

Despite the daily uptick, Pi Coin remains in a bearish pattern. Over the last week, it has shed 7%, and it’s still down more than 30% over the past month. Technical indicators show weak bullish momentum, and the overall sentiment remains cautious.

The price action in June has been mostly sideways, fluctuating within a tight range between $0.50 and $0.60. Trading volume has stayed low, signaling a lack of strong buying interest. If Pi fails to hold support near $0.50, it could decline toward lower levels. On the upside, a break above $0.60 would be needed to signal a potential trend reversal.

Pi2Day 2024: A Potential Catalyst

The upcoming Pi2Day on June 28 could provide a much-needed catalyst for Pi Coin. Historically, Pi2Day events have included key announcements from the Pi Core Team. This year’s event coincides with the close of the .pi domain auctions, increasing the chances of a major development being revealed.

A positive announcement could inject fresh bullish momentum into Pi’s price and help it challenge resistance levels in the short term.

Long-Term Outlook: Can Pi Reach $50?

Analysts at CoinDCX suggest Pi Coin has long-term potential, but progress will be tied to key milestones such as:

  • Mainnet Expansion
  • Listings on Major Exchanges
  • Network Utility Growth

In a bullish 2025 scenario, Pi could climb to $0.75–$1.20, or even $1.50–$2.00 if momentum builds. However, absent major updates—or if significant selling pressure returns from unlocked tokens—Pi might remain range-bound, ending the year between $0.60–$0.70.

Looking even further ahead, CoinDCX projects that Pi could reach $20–$50 by 2040, and potentially exceed $100 by 2050, if it evolves into a widely used global crypto asset.
