Robinhood Connect has been integrated by Uniswap to allow cryptocurrency purchases using mobile apps.

The decentralized exchange Uniswap recently announced that its integration with Robinhood Connect enabled US users to purchase cryptocurrencies with money from bank transfers, debit cards, and Robinhood accounts.

US with Robinhood Connect, Users Can Purchase Crypto

An exclusive promotion would give $10 in USDC to new Robinhood Connect users who buy at least $10 worth of cryptocurrency through the Uniswap app. This promotion is intended especially to welcome new users to the network.

Users must first choose the buy icon on the Uniswap mobile app in order to purchase cryptocurrency via Robinhood Connect. Next, users select the cryptocurrency they want to buy and input the desired quantity.

Users would get a list of providers based on their region after choosing "Continue," with Robinhood Connect only being accessible within the United States.

To finish the transaction, users can choose to finish their purchase by choosing Robinhood Connect as their provider.

Trading Fee Increased by Uniswap Labs to 0.25%

Additionally, Uniswap Labs increased their trading costs from 0.15% to 0.25%. The majority of mainnet and Layer 2 network transactions were affected by this increase; however, stablecoin swaps and transactions involving Ethereum and Wrapped Ethereum were not.

Users could access the Uniswap protocol using alternate interfaces and finish the transactions there to avoid paying additional costs.

In the meantime, Uniswap was under increased regulatory inspection. Hayden Adams, the founder of the firm, declared that the SEC had sent him a Wells Notice, indicating that operating as an unregistered exchange may result in legal action.

Adams explained that the main function of Uniswap Labs is software development, and the company is heavily involved in the continuous evolution of the Uniswap protocol.

The community rejected a governance proposal in March 2024 that would have changed the platform's fee schedule and allowed holders of UNI tokens to share revenue.

In order to enable the much-anticipated "fee-switch" functionality, the proposal aimed to give the decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) the ability to modify the fee structure.
