At The Gateway event in Dubai today, TON announced exciting new updates to its Telegram-integrated crypto wallet, TON Space, enhancing user accessibility and functionality. With over 100 million Telegram users—approximately 10% of the app's total user base—having signed up for TON Space, this marks a significant milestone for the platform.

Integration of Self-Custodial Options

The upcoming updates aim to merge TON Wallet’s custodial and self-custodial options into a single, user-friendly interface. This integration is designed to simplify the user experience, allowing seamless navigation between custodial and self-custodial storage solutions. For both developers and users, the wallet update is expected to enhance access to a wide range of TON network features. After a successful beta phase, TON Space is set to become a permanent, full-featured option.

The TON team also highlighted that the integrations will encompass various decentralized applications (dApps), decentralized exchanges (DEX), staking aggregation services, and tools for NFT and Jetton giveaways. These enhancements will provide TON Space users with competitive transaction rates and a broader suite of decentralized services, making the platform increasingly attractive to a diverse audience.

A Gateway to the TON Ecosystem

Andrew Rogozov, CEO of The Open Platform, emphasized this transformation during his speech, stating, “TON Space is transitioning from a crypto asset storage solution to an ecosystem in and of itself.” He further noted, “We want TON Space to become a gateway for the entire TON ecosystem, empowering Telegram’s 950 million users to seamlessly access dApps built on TON.”

Recently, the TON Foundation announced a partnership with HashKey to support the “open network” and increase access to fiat on and off-ramps for Telegram wallet users in the Asia-Pacific region. This partnership aims to facilitate a smoother entry into the crypto space for users in that area.

The Gateway Event in Dubai

The Gateway event is taking place on November 1-2 at the Grand Hyatt in Dubai, with attendees enjoying pleasant weather and clear skies. Outside the venue, a luxury car adorned with the TON logo captures the attention of passersby. Notably, Pavel Durov, the CEO of Telegram, is not attending this year’s event.

As TON continues to innovate and expand its offerings, the updates to TON Space reflect a commitment to making cryptocurrency more accessible and user-friendly for Telegram's vast user base. With these developments, TON is poised to solidify its position within the rapidly evolving landscape of decentralized finance.
