Tomarket, a popular Telegram game boasting 50 million total users and 6 million daily active users, has announced a significant shift in its blockchain strategy. Instead of launching its native token, TOMA, on The Open Network (TON) as initially planned, the game will now deploy on the Aptos blockchain.

The TOMA token launch is scheduled for December 20th, with an airdrop rewarding players who have met specific in-game criteria. While Tomarket has conducted multiple airdrop waves, players have been unable to withdraw or trade their allocated tokens until now. The development team previously clarified that "token generation" referred to the allocation of tokens within the game itself."

Aptos' high speed and reliable infrastructure provides the scalability Tomarket needs to support its growing user base while delivering smooth, efficient blockchain experiences," stated Miles, a core team member at Tomarket.

Following the token launch, Tomarket plans to expand its offerings significantly. This includes introducing a wider variety of games, enhancing its FarmingPool rewards program, and launching an aggregator of decentralized exchanges (DEXs) to facilitate seamless token trading.

While many Telegram-based crypto games, including prominent titles like Hamster Kombat and Notcoin, have chosen to deploy on TON, contributing to the chain's rapid growth and current ranking as the 16th largest cryptocurrency by market cap, Tomarket's decision to opt for Aptos marks a notable shift in the landscape. This trend is not entirely new, as the tap-to-earn combat game MemeFi recently launched its token on Sui after initially planning to deploy on the Ethereum layer-2 network, Linea.

Tomarket's move to Aptos highlights the evolving dynamics within the blockchain gaming space, showcasing the increasing diversity of preferred platforms and the ongoing search for the most suitable infrastructure to support the growth and scalability of innovative projects.
