Magic Eden, a prominent non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace, has further expanded its reach by adding support for the BeraChain and ApeChain blockchains. This brings the total number of blockchains supported by the platform to nine, including Ethereum, Bitcoin Ordinals, Polygon, Solana, and Arbitrum.
Magic Eden's ambitious goal is to reach ten supported blockchains by the end of the year, and they are actively preparing to integrate the Monad layer-1 blockchain once its testnet launches.
The announcement comes shortly after ApeChain, a layer-1 blockchain developed by Yuga Labs and powered by ApeCoin, launched its mainnet. This launch was met with significant enthusiasm, evidenced by over 360,000 transactions and 1,204 deployed contracts within the first few days. The positive reception boosted the ApeCoin price to its highest level since April, although it has since experienced a slight pullback.
BeraChain, another blockchain added to Magic Eden's support list, features three main tokens: BEX, BGT, and HONEY. The proof-of-liquidity blockchain recently secured $100 million in a Series B funding round.
Despite the addition of new blockchains, Ethereum remains a dominant force in the NFT market, holding just over 15% of the total market share. Polygon follows with less than 1%, while Solana continues to lead in terms of sales and buyers, capturing over 72% and nearly 68% respectively.
