The inaugural Dubai AI & Web3 Festival, held over two dynamic days, has set a new benchmark for technology conferences, attracting over 6,800 delegates from more than 100 countries. This global gathering brought together a diverse array of participants, including government officials, heads of state, academics, business leaders, and representatives from AI and Web3 firms. The festival's opening remarks were delivered by Arif Amiri, Chief Executive Officer of DIFC Authority, who highlighted Dubai’s commitment to becoming a global hub for technology and innovation. Amiri reflected on DIFC’s evolution over the past 20 years, emphasizing its role as a cornerstone in Dubai’s economic diversification efforts. He proudly announced the success of the Dubai AI Campus, which has already surpassed its first-year target by attracting over 120 firms. Looking ahead, DIFC plans to bring in more than 500 companies by 2028, create over 3,000 jobs, and expand the AI Campus to over 100,000 square feet while attracting $300 million in investment.

New Initiatives and Announcements

During the festival, Amiri introduced the Dubai AI Licence, a groundbreaking initiative designed to attract more companies to Dubai. This new licence builds on the success of the DIFC Innovation Licence, which has already attracted over 1,100 businesses to the Centre. Additionally, the launch of the ‘AI as a Service’ concept was announced. This service will assist companies in assessing their readiness for AI, identifying opportunities, making recommendations, developing strategies, and implementing AI solutions effectively.

Future Tech World Cup: A Showcase of Innovation

A highlight of the festival was the inaugural Future Tech World Cup, where AI and Web3 companies competed to be crowned the champion. Each finalist delivered compelling pitches, demonstrating how their innovations could revolutionize industries and address pressing global challenges. The winner of this prestigious competition is expected to be announced soon, marking a significant milestone in the recognition of technological excellence.

Diverse and Insightful Discussions

The second day of the festival featured a range of in-depth sessions covering vital topics in AI and Web3. Discussions included inclusion and diversity, decentralized intelligence, building risk resilience in vendor management, and implementing AI in business. Key themes also encompassed laws and regulations surrounding AI, interoperability, predictive modeling, data visualization, big data processing, data mining, enterprise adaptation in Web3 migration, and the governance and ethics of Generative AI.

The Dubai AI Campus seized the opportunity to sign several strategic agreements during the festival. Notable partnerships include collaborations with Dubai Civil Defence, Holon, Kearney, NayaOne, SIEF, Visa, Warba Bank, and Zurich. The Dubai AI & Web3 Festival’s inaugural edition was supported by 30 sponsors and powered by key partners such as Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, Holon, Al Fardan Exchange, and Hyperfusion. The festival's success sets the stage for its second edition, scheduled to take place in November next year.
